Hello!

I'm really sorry for not posting for the past weeks/month? I was so tired everyday, busy with Nicole. She needed alot of attentive cares in regards to her wound as cleaning up her wound would means a big task to us. (We can't use wet wipes and clean it yet because the wound hasn't healed.)
Updates of Nicole:

Upon her discharge from KKH, she needed to wash her wound after poo-ing with sodium chloride and cotton wool. After 2 weeks of that, when we went back to KKH for follow-up, doctor actually told us that her wound are more or less healing and we need not use sodium chloride to wash the wound but tap water. It was a great news, indeed, to us as we need not purchase the non-economic sodium chloride as well as not to bring the bulky bottle of NaCl out anymore!
On that day when we went back KKH, things weren't that simple too. It marks the start of dilation (forcing a metal rod into her anus to increase the resistancy so that the anus wouldn't shrink in size). ITS PAINFUL!!!
Generally, since her operation, she has been very dependant on pacifier and needed to seek more attention than before the operation. Its somehow understandable but yet I really wanna force myself not to give in too much in her as she will be spoilt by us, especially her granny (my mum).

She now can lift her head real hard, look @ the camera when we wanna snap a photo of her. She is liking to smile and laugh more than before and one day, she delighted me by laughing real loud when we played with her on the bus! I was blessed and joyful after hearing that. She's starting to make noises when we talk to her *or should I say sound?*...

She can make sounds like 'ahhh looo' when I said HELLO to her, and 'aiiiiii' when I said HI to her... She can also make random sounds like 'arhhhhh', 'ooooooo', 'eeehhh' to us... She's just nearing 3 months and she can make such sound? I felt puzzled? Is that normal...??
Anyway, my this little princess Chua Jia En, Nicole will be turning 3-months old this Friday, which is TODAY!!!!
So fast and she's 3-month old...
Still remembered how she was when she was in my tummy kicking and playing...
Still remembered how I was when I'm in pain alone with her in my tummy trying to get out to see the world....
Still remembered how I was stuggling to get her out from my tummy...
Still remembered the first time when I heard her cries and saw her beautiful blushing face...
Still remembered how I fed her first 'milk' in the world...
Still remembered how I cry and sobbed for her to be kept in Special Care Unit...
Still remembered how I struggle to get her discharged from the hospital...
Still remembered how she was in pain when she was checked for jaundice and vacinnations
Still remembered how the many many things that happened to her as she grows, 1 month old and than till now, 3 month old!
"I love my beloved princess and our little baobei! Mummy and Daddy loves and will protect you always"
She's having her beauty sleep now btw (stirred abit while the mozart classical is played through my comp for her)

NICOLE IS FINALLY DISCHARGED!

Sorry for the delay in informing!

-Nicole was on glucose water (clear feeds) on Monday morning (10am) after Dr Low Yee has seen her.
-Nicole was on EBM (half feed from TPN) on Tuesday morning (3am) after taking up to 45ml of glucose water.
-Nicole has TPN off her (full milk feed) on Tuesday afternoon (3.30pm) after taking up to 80ml of EBM.
-Nicole was discharged from Higher Dependency and transferred to General Ward on Tuesday afternoon (4pm).
-Nicole was latched on after sending to General Ward.
-Nicole was seen by Dr Low Yee and was discharged on Wednesday afternoon (1.30pm)

Now, Nicole's wound is in care.
The stitch at her neck where TPN was inserted has almost heeled. The wound at her anus was still 'hazardous' but at least not that easy for infection. We have to change her nappies every now and then, apply antibotics cream for her after washing with sodium chloride. Nicole is somewhat back to her usual self, all active and chubby as she was before the operations.

THANKS to all medical staffs of KKH. A great experience there finally.

-Another challenge for you would be the dilating of the new anus you have got. Continue to be a strong girl and bear with the coming pain for the next few months.
-And challenge your next operation in a year's time!
