Hi there, here are the updates on Nicole's condition.

Yesterday evening, Nicole was on full minerals and nutritions supported by the machine (to go into the tubing on the neck). There's 3 minerals running, with a drip.

Dr Low Yee, her main surgeon and doctor for this operation, came to see Nicole this morning (just now). The only thing she told me was that Nicole looks good and so does the wound. We just have to pray that the wound won't be affected as she starts pooing more these few days. Dr Low Yee also mentioned that she got to sleep on her side as it will exert pressure on her wound if she sleeps on her back. She have to keep her pampers well-ventilated by not sticking it.
POOR GIRL!
And the worse thing was that the MORPHIN (pain-killer) was removed off her just now. Only panadol at 6hrs interval were to be given to her in which doctors are not that keen into it.

Nicole was more alert than the past 1 day when she kept drifting to sleep due to MORPHIN.
Alright talking about me... I'm nothing but just that I've been staying in the hospital with her since Sunday. 3 Nights liao and it definitely pains my heart looking at her. I couldn't sleep well too as I'm afraid that she'll wake up to see her mummy gone or cry and I don't know.
"TIRING" is all I can say.
Saw a patient in the same ward as Nicole, felt so heartpain for him and his parents. He was like 5 years old? AND I assumed that he had his fingers amputated (cause his fingers are all bandaged and it seemed shorter than normal). However, the paining thing was not that his fingers are injured, but because he had rejection to all his medicine and EVEN FOOD. After every feed, be it food, drinks, or medicine, he will vomit everything out and he had rashes due to the side effect. Hence, it made him have the phobia of having medicine and everytime he was to be fed with medicine, he would cry really loud, saying 'I don't want, Pain, Go away!'... ...
Poor mummy of him, had to endure his tantrum and finally I saw the saddest side of it. Her mummy was angered one day, scolded the boy, throw his bolster on him, grabbed her bag and went off!
It's definitely not the mummy's fault nor is the boy's fault.
They gained my sympathy... REALLY, not easy to be a mummy like that nor is it easy to suffer.
Alright, so that's all now...

Sunday @ 10am, we left home with a frightening feeling. Our hearts was not just heavy BUT super heavy. Took a cab to KKH and admitted Nicole in.
She was in ward 55, bed 12. I was told to feed her before the doctor comes to test her DNA and put her on drip. Her last milk was at 11.15am, 22March2009 :(
(Though she was put on drip with her right leg bandaged to assist fluid flow in drip, she was still as active as my usual Nicole, kicking with all forces she has got.) The only thing which pains my heart was that she couldn't drink milk! Only glucose water!
The worse part came on 23March2009 when her last feed of glucose water was at 7.15am, afterwhich NO MORE FLUID! She was sent to the operating theatre at 11.30am...
:(
She was smiling at us, kicking while lying on the bed, and playing happily by herself before going in. So adorable and is heartpaining to see her like this. It somehow made me the culprit that sent her in to suffer! I teared of course. It's really painful to see her suffer... while she can still smile and laugh with us before the suffers.
During the course of the operation, in order to put up a brave front, I accompanied my mum to Balestier to purchase her things and bought Tau Sau Piah back for hubby to eat too.
Waited and Waited...
:(
Then, the 'samaritian-looking' surgeon came out (there's a reason for me calling him that cos he just resemble one of the guy on channel 8, ask me if u're really interested!)...
He told me: "Still in the process" and my heart drops...
(To those who's concerned)
Updates on Nicole's condition:
Time started: 11.50am
Time ended: 3.15pm
Duration of Operation: 3Hours 25Minutes
Recovery Time: 5pm (1hour, 45minutes later)
Operation was successful with anus repaired and constructed at normal location.
Further and close observation is needed as doctors are afraid of inflammtion and hurting of wound.
Surgeon commented that control of muscles are weak, might need future observation when Nicole grows older. (But not a worry at this moment of time yet.)
Nicole was transferred to Higher Dependence Unit to be kept under close observations. (Ward 65, Bed 05)
She has to pass urine through a line so as not to touch the wound and if flamate it.
She has to fast for 5 days without milk or water (just drip and special nutrients inserted from a line at the neck and nostril.)
As of this morning... ... (as I'm typing)
- She has passed her first stool and doctor has seen it. I was told that whether the wound would heal depends on individual and hopefully she can pass through it.
- She developed a fever last night and was okay this morning. Doctor says that fever are unavoidable side effect.
- She's feeling very tired probably from the operation, sleeping and waking several times. But generally, she's well and I think it doesn't seems that painful for her.
...........
Hence, Nicole should be fine and hope everything goes right for her after 5 days, then she can consume her long waiting milk. (While in the time being, I'll just pump it out to stimulate and wait to latch her on soon)

KAOS! I typed everything and its all gone! No mood liaos!
Alright, here's the most important update from my 'ALREADY TYPED POST'
Nicole has been well (except for the choking of the saliva which sounds like coughing and the sneezing)... She can now lift her head up real high as compared to when she was younger. She loves to look around her especially for the CNY Deco hung in my living room. She can stare at it for 10minutes and smile/laugh at it! Her eyes follows moving objects very closely now and when we were out, in the taxi, she will stare outside at the moving trees, as if the trees really fly!

But thinking about all these cuteness in her, my heart became so ... SAD! She's going to be admitted to hospital tomorrow and then, have her operation on Monday. Pains and sufferings will follow her until a few months later.
First: She has to go without milk from 10am tomorrow. (Imagine how painful it has been to me to be on drip, needless to say her!)
Second: She has to bear the pain of a wound on her buttock and if operation complicates, at the left side of her tummy!
Then: She got to stand the pain of a 'metal stick' going into her anus for months to let the 'hole' be bigger

*Ouch its just too painful*
And these are the prayers for her:
Oh Lord,
1). Please bless that she will not cry too much / be too hungered during the days without milk.
2). Please bless that she will not be too painful and the sufferrings would be lessen for her.
3). She will not miss home & her lovely bed AND felt that Daddy and Mummy no longer love her.
4). She will not miss Mummy whenever I leave her bedside for lunch and dinner.
5). She will get well real soon, be a strong girl always, and start to play with Daddy and Mummy once again!
I guess all parents do understand the pains of YOU seeing your little ones going to suffer, or even cry! I bet my tears will flow when I see her in pain tomorrow, poor girl. (AND the worse thing now was that I can't kiss her as I am having a flu & cough!)

Here's some pictures of Nicole:
